Day 8
9.00 AM
At last. Today is the day. It's been fun, but I've had quite enough of Germany now. ...drat. I'm having to wear my ruined jeans again, since I already stuffed the others in my suitcase, together with towels and stuff, making 'm too wet to wear. I also thought I'd at least feel a bit less sore today, but nope... still roughly the same as yesterday. Oh well, I'll live.
11.15 AM
After breakfast and gathering some snacks and drinks for on the road, we started our return trip. Meanwhile, I've of course been playing Pokémon Silver again... and I've finally managed to catch one of those Legendary Cats, Suicune. This gives me new hope. I'm not gonna stop until all three are mine!
12.00 PM
I got Raikou. That's two down, one to go. And you just gotta love those German freeways. Long parts of them don't have a speed limit at all. Thus, we're going over a hundred miles an hour now. If this keeps up, we'll be home in no time!
12.15 PM
I knew I shouldn't have been so optimistic. Now we're in a traffic jam. D'oh!
1.00 PM
I can't tell you how frustrating my quest to capture Entei has been. ...oh wait, I can. Picture this: I spent five minutes hunting down Entei's current location. Then, ten more minutes wandering around in the tall grass, waiting for him to show. His health's already in the red, so when he finally does show, I make him unable to run, then make him fall asleep. Then I start tossing every ball I have at him. Twenty Ultra Balls, three Fast Balls, two Friend Balls, a Heavy Ball, and whatever others I had left. And still I don't catch him. And this scenario has repeated itself two times now. I'm tempted to toss the only ball I didn't use yet, the Master Ball, but I just know I'd be sorry later. Well, 'least the traffic jam's clearing up...
1.30 PM
...this is ridiculous. I meet up with Entei again, toss a single Ultra Ball, and I've caught him. Is there no logic to this game? Oh well, I'm not complaining. That makes 109 Pokémon. Not bad, not bad at all.
2.30 PM
Feels good to be back in Holland. We're taking the opportunity to stop for a while, spend the little Dutch money we have on a snack... no, no french fries this time. Even we got sick of that eventually.
4.00 PM
I took my newly acquired Pokémon to see the Elite Four and, of course, emerged victorious. For those who actually care about all this Pokémon stuff, I used a level 37 Gengar, level 41 Skarmory, level 41 Entei, level 41 Raikou, level 41 Suicune, and level 47 Lugia. This makes 66 hours and 26 minutes I spent playing Pokémon Silver. We should be pretty close to home now... yep, just about 20 miles remaining. Man, will I have some catching up to do when I get back. C'mon guys, floor it! Top speed! Turbo Boost!
4.20 PM
We're here! ...at a friend's place that is. Erghh... no offence guys, but I've talked to you enough the past week... let's go, c'mon! *sigh* No, I can't say that, that would be rude...
5.30 PM
And finally, finally... I'm home. About time. My cats are sure glad to see me again. Well, the 18-year old one seems apathetic as usual, but I can tell that she's glad too. Well, I'm off to start my catching up. Of course I don't even have to think about my first destination. I highly doubt she's already there, but I can wait all day if I have to. In the mean time, I'll get started on transferring this log to my P.C. so others can read it if they want to. ...which is what you've been doing if you're reading this. Thanks! Hope you enjoyed reading this so it served some purpose...
