Day 4

9.15 AM

Yay, we all overslept. If you can call it that at this hour. 'sides, it's more like overwaked. Not like any of us fall alseep very fast. And I tend to wake up a lot during the night too, that doesn't help. But hey, no worries... you can still get breakfast 'til ten around here.

10.30 AM

We already decided we were going to do something active today, even those that Wildpark thing was more active than expected, what with all the walking uphill and all. So today, we're not gonna be walking. We're going swimming. There's this place called "Gran Dorado", a bungalowpark, nearby that has one of them subtropical swimming thingies that's supposedly pretty good. Let's see if it deserves its reputation.

11.20 AM

We quite nearly ran outta gas there. Let's not cut it so close next time. Mental note: These quaint little German villages you pass on the way to... well, everywhere, aren't really good for anything aside from being part of the scenery. You really need to stop in a place that's actually on the map to find a gas station.

11.45 AM

Ah, good, we're here... and hey, since this is a bungalowpark, there's bound to be some kinda supermarket around here, right? We could use a snack and drink refill.

12.00 PM

Yes indeed there was such a place. Success is ours! Time to celebrate.. with more french fries, of course.

12.50 PM

We just got two-hour passes for the pool, and we were about to go in... when the others inform me they seem to have misplaced the bag that has their swimwear in it. Figures! God, some people'll do anything for attention. In a stroke of luck, which to the others I shall be referring to as a stroke of genius, just because I can, I brought /my/ swimwear in a seperate bag. So I'm going on ahead while the others search for their stuff. Hey, their fault for losing it... I for one intend to make full use of the amount of time I paid for.

1.10 PM

Well, seems like a nice enough pool t'me. It's got everything it needs... that being water. Sure, bound to be a few more attractions, but I'm sure I'll get to those later. Right now just some random swimming'll do.

1.20 PM

I was just about to exit the main pool, when I felt something strike my upper leg. Looking down, I see what it was: A small plastic ball. Wonder who that belong to. ...hm, and I wonder why everyone's staring at me, too... oh. Oops. Looks the impact caused me to instinctively phase into my armor. How embarassing. Way to blow your cover, Macc!

Yoohoo! Can I have my ball back please?

Gah! It's you! ...you swim in that, too?

Sure, why not?

...never mind, I'm not even gonna try to reason with you.

Oh. Okay. So can I have my ball back?

Sure, whatever. *tosses the ball in front of Richard, splashing him with a little water*

Waaaaaah! How could you?

What? What'd I do?

Waaaaaah! Geeeeeeeeeeeenie! He's being mean to me!

What? Who is? ...you again?

...geez, you're even more scary without the make-up. ...and I can't even begin to explain how wrong it is to swim in /that/.

Oh, now you've done it, insulting my fashion style, eh? Let's get 'im, Richard!

I'm with you, Gene!

Simmons Splash! *splash water on Macc*

And let that be a lesson to you! Gene Simmons...

...Richard Simmons...

...Escape! *both vanish*

............

1.25 PM

Now, I've had some pretty weird opponents before, but these two take the cake. ...guess now would be a good time to teleport the heck outta here, phase back out of my armor, re-enter, and hope noone recognises my casual form. Lucky for me there seem to be mostly kids around right now, noone'll believe them anyway. Given my past experiences, they'll just tell their parents they saw the Blue Ranger. *sigh* Kids today...

1.40 PM

Well, I was able to enjoy the rest of the pool without any trouble... the rapids, the four different slides, the outside pool... and finally, only now do the rest of the guys arrive. Turns out they left their bag at the very entrance of the park, where we asked the reception for directions to the pool. Took 'm long enough to check there.

3.30 PM

After the whole pool incident everything we smoothly enough. After our time there was up, we took a little look around the bungalow park. Seems like a nice enough place. But we're gonna have to be heading back right about now, We still have other plans for today, you see.

4.10 PM

And once again, the way back was much faster than when we went in the opposite direction. Well, at least there's something consistant about this country. We just stopped at the luge run close to Winterberg. There was an accident here a few weeks ago, or so I heard. It was apparently big enough to make the news in Holland. There was talk that because of it, the luge might remain closed all summer. But it's open now, so that's good. We're not the kinda guys that'll let some accident frighten 'm out of a luge ride.

4.45 PM

Well, that was fun. Kinda short, but fun. This luge wasn't nearly as long as some I went on in Austria, but on the upside you didn't have to walk all the way up the mountain either. We each managed to go twice in this time. Don't see how an accident could've happened here either. I mean, I took it easy on the first ride, but on the second I went at full speed, without using the breaks at all except to stop at the very end. Suppose someone omitted that last part? Ah well, I'm not gonna worry about it.

5.00 PM

Killing time at the hotel again.

6.00 PM

And that's my 100th Pokémon; Lugia's finally mine. Caught it with a Friend Ball, of all things.

7.20 PM

Dinner today: Soup... I think. Still don't know what the heck it's supposed to be, just that it looks a lot like porridge and tastes pretty lousy. Furthermore we have cauliflower, again something that looked much like a schnitzel, but turned out to actually be a schnitzel too this time, and fries shaped like an inconveniently large block. Ah well, 'twas edible, at least.

8.30 PM

Back at the hotel room, trying to think of what to do tonight. We eventually settle on giving that fair another go. Maybe it'll be less crowded this time.

9.00 PM

Oh, bloody hell. Looks like it's even more crowded than last time. Damned if I'm gonna leave this time without having gone on their fastest, most nausea-inducing ride, though.

9.25 PM

There, that takes care of that. Got on the ride, I mean. Nausea was induced alright. Other than that... well, it was alright. A little on the tame side, but it'll do. Now to get in the bumper cars and bash some Germans! Whee!

9.50 PM

Hee hee... that was a blast. Sandwiched a couple of Germans between two of our cars a few times, that rocked. Well, now... what else is there around here? ...of course. This being a German fair, they opened up a bar right next to the fairgrounds just for the occasion. But damn... the line there's even longer than the lines for the rides! There's no way anyone could get through that mass of people without one of them German beer-bellies to push them aside, so looks like we're outta luck.

10.00 PM

Hey, neat, someone set up us the fireworks display. Looks like we picked the right night to come back here.

10.15 PM

The display's over... it was pretty high quality stuff, too. We debated going back to that disco now, but there's just something about memory lapses that scared me away from that idea.

10.40 PM

And thus, we are back at the hotel bar, playing another round of Hearts.

1.20 AM

Woowee! After last night, I thought I might've lost my edge a bit, but I certainly proved my superior Hearts abilities tonights, winning every single game we played and even managing to shoot the moon once. ...no, I don't mean as in Dragon Ball Z, but for those reading this that don't know Hearts take it from me that it's quite an accomplishment. And that even when by the end of it it looked more like I was holding 38 cards instead of 13. Yeah, I'll be sleeping well tonight...
